Ian F. Thomas is chairman of Thomas Consultants Inc., a firm that has undertaken large-scale commercial projects in more than 60 countries, for some of the largest developers and retailers in the world. Mr. Thomas is the chairman of ICSC’s International Design and Development Awards program and of the Australian Independent Schools USA Foundation in New York. In the past, he served on the board of trustees of the International Council of Shopping Centers in New York and as a director of the ICSC Foundation, Coast Appliances Ltd., Downtown Parking Corporation, City Xppress.com, Urban Development Institute, Vancouver Opera, and Future Shop Ltd.

PETER M. WOODFINE

Peter M. Woodfine has over 30 years of experience developing and financing a variety of mixed-use developments in Western Canada, primarily working in the secondary real-estate markets. Mr. Woodfine was the founding partner and president of Cedaridge Properties Inc. This portfolio of properties, amounting to approximately 560,000 square feet of leasable space, was sold to the Ontario Pension Board for $101 million.

He supervises and controls the work of these professionals directly and indirectly, along with the field officers, including hiring, firing, evaluation, and all other personnel actions. Over the last 15 years, Mathew Woodfine has worked with his father in all aspects of real estate development.

ALEC PECK

Mr. Peck currently provides corporate executive financial services to Canadian public corporations, usually in the capacity of chief financial of officer for a project or activity over a specific term.

Stewart Gillespie

Stewart Gillespie has been involved directly in the real-estate development and management business for over 40 years. Primarily focused on developing retail properties, his company, Chrisen Realty Corporation Ltd., has also completed significant land developments and medical office buildings and is presently undertaking a substantial hangar development at Edmonton’s International Airport. Mr. Gillespie is a long-standing member of the International Council of Shopping Centres and received the CSM designation in 1975.

Ralph W. Peterson

Ralph Peterson was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (and legacy firm Price Waterhouse) from 1988 to 2003. In 2003, Mr. Peterson left public practice to join industry as Vice President, Finance, Corporate Risk & Strategy and Chief Financial Officer of the Edmonton International Airport Authority. In 2011, Mr. Peterson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of a privately held steel fabrication company. He is now semi-retired and is currently Director (and Chair) of a private corporate Board and Independent Trustee of a pension fund. He was previously the Founding Chair of an insurance reciprocal.

Herb Evers

Herb Evers is the president of Waterstone Properties Inc. and a vice-president with First National Properties (successor to Block Bros. Realty Ltd.). He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both companies, including strategic planning, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and construction. Previously, Mr. Evers held a controllership with the Dominion Company, which was involved in project-development design and construction. He is a chartered accountant and holds a diploma in urban land economics.

Bruce Andrews

Bruce Andrews is an independent businessman with over 30 years of corporate real-estate development experience, most recently as a senior real-estate executive in Western Canada for Loblaw Corporation, a Canada-wide supermarket chain, and previously with Marathon Realty and McDonald’s restaurants. He has been responsible for all aspects of development of a variety of real-estate asset classes, including freestanding retail, shopping centres, office, industrial properties, apartments, and warehouses.

Dennis Young

Dennis Young was president and CEO of Imbrook Properties, a real-estate investment subsidiary of Imperial Life/Laurentian Group (now Desjardins Group). He went on to establish Y Corp., a family-owned company involved in all aspects of commercial real-estate investment, development, leasing, and financing. In this capacity, Mr. Young has over the last 20 years been closely involved in the development of approximately 20 commercial projects throughout Ontario.

David R. Johnson

Johnson Consulting Ltd., a firm that provides consulting services to a broad spectrum of property/casualty insurance firms, primarily in the areas of business development and consumer relations. Prior to starting his consulting business Mr. Johnson held Vice-president roles in the areas of Claims and Human Resources for TD Insurance in Western Canada from 2001 to 2012. His 35-year insurance career also included senior management roles in Saint John, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.
